Seongsu Seoul Winter: Dasique Pop-Ups, Café Dasique View & Gamjatang
Seongsu Seoul Winter Memory: Pop-Ups, Café Dasique & Gamjatang
Updated October 2025 with refreshed links and new Seongsu café notes.
Seoul changes so quickly that every visit feels like a new city. This post isn’t about today, but a memory of my last winter in Seongsu—a season of holiday pop-ups, warm cafés, and comforting food. I’m returning this September, so I wanted to capture those moments before sharing what Seongsu looks like now.
Winter in Seongsu: Holiday Pop-Ups & Dasique Flagship
The streets were alive with holiday pop-ups and installations, and one building stood out—wrapped like a glowing gift box. That was the Dasique flagship store, home to their playful “Chewing Glow Pot” pop-up.
Inside, I browsed cosmetics with festive energy—discounts, limited editions, and a steady crowd. The best part came upstairs at the second floor, Café Dasique.
Café Dasique: Pink Interiors & Dior Seongsu Window View
The café felt like stepping into the brand world: blush-pink interiors, seasonal desserts, beautifully served lattes. I queued for a window seat and got the perfect view of the Dior Seongsu concept store glowing across the street.
Warm coffee, shopping bags, and that luminous building across the window—a pause in the middle of Seoul’s energy. A true Soyomoment (소요, 逍遙): a calm instant that lingers.
Other Pop-Up Highlights
- Dasique “Chewing Glow Pot”—playful, festive, and highly photo-friendly.
- TIRTIR Pop-Up—a bold red installation turning shopping into an immersive experience.
Somunnan Seongsu Gamjatang: The Perfect Winter Stew
After pop-ups and café time, I ended with gamjatang (pork bone stew) at Somunnan Seongsu Gamjatang. It’s a 24-hour local legend—long queues, deeply flavorful broth.
I waited about 40–50 minutes, made easier by the heated benches for people in line. When my turn came, that rich, spicy stew—full of tender pork and potatoes—was winter comfort in a bowl.
Looking Ahead
Time moves fast in Korea—and Seongsu changes even faster. I’ll be back in Seoul soon and will update this post with what’s new in the neighbourhood.
